31, 2015 – – Going for a midday nap may be beneficial for your heart, new study suggests. The investigators looked at how an hour-longer siesta at noon affected blood pressure among almost 400 middle-aged people who have high blood pressure. The result: those who napped saw their systolic blood pressure reading drop an average of 5 % during the period of the day, compared with patients who didn’t rest. More specifically, the group found that nappers found their blood circulation pressure readings fall by 4 % during the day and by 6 % during sleep at night.
